Folklorico for Wellness Program 

​

Our Folklórico for Wellness program began in 2024 as an innovative way to blend cultural expression with physical activity and mental well-being for children. Recognizing the need for culturally relevant wellness programs in the community, we introduced Folklórico dance classes for all ages. This initiative celebrates the rich traditions of Latino culture while promoting physical fitness, building confidence, and fostering a sense of identity and community among young participants. Various schools from Prince George's county have been able to partner with us to bring this program to their community. 

Recognitions

Jhoselyn Rodriguez, founder and CEO, was awarded in 2024 the Health Equity Champion Award by the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus, Congressionally Recognized by Congressman Glenn Ivey, named Community Champion by Prince George's County Council. 

Resource Fairs & Health Fairs

​CSH has organized and co-organized health fairs and resource fairs in Montgomery county, Prince George's county, and in Anne Arundel serving thousands of community members from various communities, especially targeting the Hispanic and Latino community. CSH has been able to maintain a relationship with the community members even after the events through webinars, social media, WhatsApp groups led by the team, and more.

Hispanic Heritage Events

​We have had the privilege of organizing Hispanic Heritage events that honored and celebrated the vibrant traditions of the Hispanic and Latino community. These large-scale celebrations feature lively music, captivating performances, and interactive activities like Lotería and traditional games. By bringing together families and community members, these events foster cultural pride, connection, and joy, while showcasing the richness of Hispanic heritage in a fun and inclusive environment.

Doula Support

​We officially began providing our services in 2022. Our doula services provide compassionate and personalized support to expectant parents throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Offered in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, our services prioritize cultural sensitivity and inclusivity, ensuring families feel empowered and well-prepared for their journey. Our experienced doulas, including bilingual professionals, offer emotional, physical, and informational support, creating a nurturing environment that promotes positive birth experiences and holistic wellness for parents and their newborns.
